The Advantages of an Inpatient LDS Program

Battling drug addiction is not easy, but when you have the right tools and people supporting you, you will succeed. Taking a spiritual approach towards overcoming addiction is the best approach. Jesus came to liberate everybody from the problems that plague them. Lion’s Gate Recovery offers several programs using the guiding principles of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. We help addicts overcome their predicament by including the spiritual aspect of healing.

Why a Rehabilitation Center in Utah?

When it comes to effective rehabilitation programs, Lion’s Gate Recovery stands out from the others. We offer LDS faith-based programs. The programs are based upon leaning on Jesus Christ and accepting the healing power of the Atonement, which can overcome any form of human weakness or addiction. Those who have endlessly sought relief from addiction will be taken through the atonement of Christ to help in recovery.

Understanding the LDS Approach

Lion’s Gate Recovery is located in southern Utah. Inside this facility is an environment of positivity, compassion and support. The staff at our facility want recovering addicts and their families to rediscover the greatest gift Heavenly Father has given to mankind: love. When a person begins a treatment program at Lion’s Gate Recovery, they are invited to leave their negative thoughts and ideas behind and begin a journey to renew their LDS faith and gain practical skills to help them live a fulfilling and productive life.

Embracing Faith

When an individual seeks treatment from our facility, the first procedure will be detoxification to get rid of withdrawal symptoms and the toxins in the body. Detoxing is part of our comprehensive services since the individual will be isolated from the bad influences that might interfere with their recovery. From that point onwards, treatment will mostly depend on an individual’s response and cooperation. A suitable program is carefully chosen for each person by our experienced and compassionate staff.

Lion’s Gate Recovery offers both inpatient and outpatient services. Another feature that makes us standout from other rehabilitation programs in Utah is our ability to offer aftercare services. Our alumni will never feel neglected after leaving the facility. We will always give our alumni a place to turn in case they experience a harsh environment that places them at risk for going back to their old ways. This is our commitment to helping people remember that Heavenly Father’s presence is always around us to guide us and to help us.

Inpatient Rehabilitation

Our inpatient rehab program is the most common way through which people receive treatment for substance addiction. It is highly beneficial since the staff can closely monitor the behavior of the patients. It is a situation that also immediately stops many of the negative influences that might hinder the rehabilitation process. The treatment program for inpatient rehabilitation usually lasts between 28 to 90 days. Inpatient treatment also tends to have a more specialized treatment that can help the patient in making a quick recovery. Such special services include exercise spaces, nature areas, and prayer/medication facilities. Round the clock care is also available. This is a great comfort for patients who are having a particularly difficult time, and it is reassuring for their families as well.

At Lion’s Gate Recovery, we feel that inpatient programs are the way to success. Outpatient programs are more challenging for people because they usually still have easy access to the drugs, alcohol, and situations that started the problem in the first place. As a resident in our facility, the road to healing is much easier and much faster.

Road to Recovery at Lion’s Gate

We use an LDS focused 12-step program to help individuals fully recover from addiction. With Jesus Christ’s help, anyone can achieve full recovery from any addiction. As an inpatient, people are given the time and the space they really need to focus on what the steps mean to them and how they can make them a part of their personal recovery. These steps include:

1. Honesty. One of the key principles of honesty is that an individual must be honest enough to admit that he or she has become powerless in managing addictions and that their life has gone out of control due to addiction. It has been confirmed that denying the seriousness of addiction makes people trying to hide their behavior sink more deeply into addiction. Admitting that you need help is the best way to get it.

2. Hope. Many people become hopeless and enter into a state of depression when they realize that their addictions have overcome them. At Lion’s Gate recovery, we recognize that many of people coming for treatment experience this hopelessness. That’s why our programs are designed to rebuild hope and help people restore the joy in their lives .

3. Trust in Heavenly Father. After regaining hope, it is time to you put your trust in Heavenly Father, and have confidence in his ability to make you experience longevity of sobriety. At this point, you make a decision open your life to him and surrender everything to him. One of the ways that we help patients exercise their renewed faith in Heavenly Father is by attending sacrament meetings and renewing baptismal covenants.

4. Truth. Patients are then encouraged to make a searching and fearless moral inventory of themselves. It will help in showing their willingness to trust in Heavenly Father. The patients are encouraged to write a personal journal and seek spiritual guidance.

5. Confession. At this stage, the individual is encouraged to admit to God, and another person they trust, the wrongs that he or she has done. Through recovery meetings, the individual slowly begins to move out of the emotional isolation in which addiction thrives.

6. Change of the Heart. Individuals are encouraged to be entirely ready to allow Heavenly Father to remove all the character weaknesses that might prevail as a result of addiction. At this point, most individuals are already separating themselves from addiction temptations and are starting to feel normal again. Individuals are encouraged to participate in LDS fellowships by attending Sunday meetings.

7. Humility. Through humility, individuals are encouraged to ask Heavenly Father to help them with all of their shortcomings.

8. Seeking Forgiveness. People are advised to make a comprehensive list of all the people they have harmed during their times of addiction and consider how they can reconcile with them. People are taught to seek the gift of charity and learn to pray for others and forgive themselves.

9. Reconciliation. After making an effort at seeking forgiveness from those harmed they must attempt to make direct restitution with them too. People are encouraged to tread softly and try not to be impulsive in the process of reconciling with others. Individuals are also encouraged to overcome the fear that is a major hindrance to effective reconciliation.

10. Daily Accountability. At this stage, the patients are encouraged to continue taking personal responsibility and also to admit quickly whenever they are wrong. The individual should examine their words, actions, and thoughts daily, and immediately set right whenever there is any wrong.

11. Personal revelation. Personal revelation is done through consistent prayer where an individual seeks Heavenly Father’s help to know his will and have the power to carry on. One can effectively exercise personal revelation through consistent meditation and prayer. This also brings a peace of mind beneficial for personal well-being.

12. Service. Service helps an individual grow in the light of the spirit. This last stage comes after having a spiritual awakening due to the atonement of Jesus Christ. Sharing these principles with others helps you remain free of addiction by cultivating a mind filled with hope and joy.
