Residential Treatment Application in St. George, UT

With Over 25 Years of Addiction Recovery Experience, We Help You Find the Right Fit

If you don’t get help at Lions Gate Recovery, get help somewhere.

We have said that for a long time, and we still mean it. With over 25 years of addiction recovery experience, we at Lions Gate understand how complex recovery is. People have different values and different life stories. Finding a treatment facility that matches your needs is one part of effective, individualized care. Not every program works for every person. If we are not the best fit for you or your loved one, we will work with you to find the best treatment options possible. Our main focus is your recovery, wherever it happens.

That is the spirit behind our residential treatment application. It is not a sales form. It is the first honest conversation about what you or your family member needs. We ask about substance use, mental health, recent crises, medications, work, family, and insurance. Then a clinician decides what level of care fits. Sometimes that answer is residential. Sometimes it is a step that asks less of your life right now. If residential is not clinically warranted, Lions Gate Rehab does not open a residential authorization just to fill a bed. You get a recommendation you can trust, even when it is not the most intensive option.

If we are not the right match, a federal locator like FindTreatment.gov and the free, confidential SAMHSA National Helpline can point you toward other licensed programs. We would rather you land somewhere good than nowhere at all.

What residential treatment at Lions Gate includes

Residential at Lions Gate Rehab is built around structure, accountability, and real behavioral change. It is not built around comfort. We do not lower expectations to keep people comfortable, because comfort is usually what kept the addiction going.

The day itself is part of treatment. Residents wake at 6:00. A therapeutic community meeting starts at 6:30. The gym follows at 7:00, then breakfast and chores. Groups run from 10 to 12 and again from 1 to 4. Evening brings chores and dinner, and at 7:00 residents engage with the community through a 12-step meeting or service work. Lights go out at 10:30. For someone whose life has run on chaos, a schedule like this rebuilds trust in their own word, one kept commitment at a time.

Staff address avoidance and resistance as it happens, not weeks later. Group content does not follow a fixed rotation. It flexes to the clinical needs of the people currently in the house, based on individual sessions and observed behavior. The clinical director makes the final call on what the group needs to face next.

Many people carry more than a substance problem. At Lions Gate Rehab, dual diagnosis is treated alongside the substance use, not after it. That includes trauma and PTSD, bipolar disorder, depression, anxiety, personality disorders, and suicidal ideation. Our clinicians draw on approaches such as Seeking Safety, DBT, and CBT. Medication management and psychiatric support are part of the picture when they are needed.

Who residential treatment is for

The people who reach us are often scared, ashamed, and unsure what to do next. Some are calling for themselves. Many are a parent, spouse, or sibling who has run out of ideas. There is no single type of person who needs residential care. We have worked with professionals who have families and careers, and with people who have lost their housing. Some arrive after an arrest, a hospitalization, or being told to leave home.

The hesitations are real, and we hear them every day:

  • “I can’t leave my job.” Many working clients enter residential on FMLA. Lions Gate helps coordinate with HR, and people often step down into IOP so they can return to work while staying in care.
  • “Who pays the bills? Who watches the kids?” These are fair questions. We talk through them during the application rather than pretending they do not exist.
  • “I’m afraid of being judged or blindsided.” You will get straight answers about what residential involves, what it costs your plan, and what we expect of you.
  • “I’m afraid to come off my medication.” Some people worry about relapsing without Suboxone. Lions Gate does not provide long-term maintenance medications, and we will be honest about that upfront. We have also seen what is possible. A 28-year-old from Colorado City had been on Suboxone for eight years when he came in for an alcohol relapse. He was tapered off Suboxone, graduated the entire program ten months later, and left free of all substances.

What to expect after you apply

Once the application is in, our team reviews it and verifies your insurance. When residential is the right fit, admission typically happens in under 24 hours. Speed matters, because the window when someone says yes can close fast.

Detox happens inside the residential house. There is no separate facility and no transfer halfway through. Residents join programming as soon as they feel well enough, so the work starts while the motivation is fresh.

The same speed applies when someone stumbles. In one case, an IOP client relapsed and was hospitalized. A same-day bed was arranged, and she was readmitted to residential the next day. Her withdrawal scores stayed in a low, manageable range. She spent about two weeks in residential, then returned to IOP, to her job, and to sober living. Relapse did not end her recovery. It sent her back to the level of care she needed for a short time.

Residents typically build about 45 days of abstinence in residential before moving into sober living. From there, graduates step into the same team’s PHP, IOP, and sober living. You do not start over with strangers each time care changes. The people who know your history stay with you.

That continuum has carried people back to lives they thought were gone. One pilot completed 45 days of residential and the full continuum, then received FAA Special Issuance and returned to flying.

What makes Lions Gate different

Lions Gate is owned and operated by people in long-term recovery, with more than 70 years of combined sobriety. We are not corporate-owned or investor-driven. Leadership is in the building and involved in daily operations. Many staff across the team are in long-term recovery themselves, which means the person challenging your excuses has often used the same ones.

Our residential services in Toquerville are Joint Commission accredited. Residential treatment programs are regulated at the state level, and the rules vary from state to state, as a federal environmental scan of state residential treatment regulation describes. That is one more reason to ask any program you consider exactly what oversight it operates under.

Insurance and paying for care

Cost is one of the first worries families raise, and it deserves a plain answer. Lions Gate Rehab works with Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, Magellan, TRICARE, and UnitedHealthcare. Your application lets us verify benefits before you commit, so you are not guessing about coverage.

If you have a marketplace plan, substance use disorder services are covered as an essential health benefit. What your plan pays for residential care still depends on its specific terms, and we will walk through those terms with you.

We Treat Addiction as a Family Disease

At some point, you or your loved one crossed over from substance abuse to addiction. Many of us do not stop to consider what drug and alcohol addiction does to the people closest to it. In many cases, life has become unmanageable for the person using and for everyone who loves them.

Families often enable without realizing it. Paying rent, covering bills, and smoothing over missed work can feel like love. Often it quietly removes the consequences that might push someone toward change. Part of our work with families is helping them see those patterns and set boundaries they can hold.

The good news is that addiction is treatable. In residential treatment, individuals relearn the life skills and coping skills that support long-term sobriety. They practice showing up on time, keeping commitments, handling conflict without a drink or a drug, and telling the truth when it costs them something. Family members get the chance to learn how to cope with the addiction as well, and how to support recovery without carrying it.

The residential treatment application is where that work begins. It gives our team what it needs to tell you honestly whether Lions Gate Rehab in St. George is the right place. If it is, you will have a structured, accountable path forward with people who have walked it themselves. If it is not, we will still help you find where to go.

Recovery Starts With a Decision

Most of our clients arrive in crisis — facing criminal charges, losing relationships, after hospitalizations. But desperation can become transformation.

You do not have to wait for things to get worse.
